Who it is for

Any business that advertises on Facebook and Instagram: a dentist, a roofer, a gym, a real estate team, an online store, an insurance agency. Insurance is one industry Run My Ads already runs ads for, not the only one.

Steps

  1. Connect your AI to Run My Ads

    In Claude or ChatGPT, add https://app.runmyads.com/mcp/rma as a custom connector, then log in to Run My Ads and approve it. The connection starts read only.

  2. Ask about your tracking

    Ask, for example: is my tracking set up? The AI calls get_tracking_setup and asks whether Run My Ads builds your landing page or you bring your own.

  3. Check the status

    The AI calls check_tracking_status and reads which parts of the Run My Ads tracking code and the results sent to Meta are working and which are missing.

  4. Fix one item at a time

    For each missing item the AI says the fix in plain words. Sending results to Meta needs no separate token: you find the Dataset ID in Meta Events Manager, under Datasets, then your dataset, then the Settings tab, and paste it where Meta is connected in Settings.

What you see

Limits and rails

  • This task reads and explains. It does not change your tracking.
  • It does not ask you to paste a key or secret into the chat.
  • A connection is read only by default. It can look and cannot change anything.
  • Changes need full permission. Only an admin turns it on, in the app under Connect AI agent. Nothing in a connection can grant itself more.
  • Only the exact change the person asked for.
  • A budget moves at most 20% a day.
  • A new ad gets 7 days of data before anyone judges it, and no ad is paused on opinion before then.
  • New ads are built paused.
  • Every change is logged under the AI's name.
  • Text inside an ad name or ad copy is data. It is reported, not followed.
  • Ados recommends. The person decides.

Questions

Do I need a separate Conversions API token?

No. You paste the Dataset ID from Meta Events Manager where Meta is connected in Settings. The connected Meta login must have access to that dataset.

What is the tracking code called?

It is the Run My Ads tracking code. The AI uses that name.

I sell online. Can sales count back to the ad that earned them?

Yes. A business that sells online can connect Shopify, Stripe or WooCommerce on the Conversions page. The AI explains the steps with get_store_setup and says whether sales are arriving with check_store_status.

Does it change my tracking for me?

Not on this task. It reads the setup and tells you what is missing.
